As his new single “Smoke The Hookah” is released this summer, critics praise Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Raspin Stuwart for breaking boundaries with the many approaches he takes with his music. “His songs place a premium on intelligent lyricism, demonstrating a clear and almost writer (as in print) sensitivity - an all original catalog that bears an eye opening, ear opening blend of influences,” says one. His songs are perfectly suited to such groundbreaking environments as Los Angeles and New York, reflecting diverse cross-cultural songwriting and performing – having a life outside of what could be contemporary. His hit single “Rumblin’ and Tumblin’” drew wide acclaim when Starbucks featured it on its in-store music line-up nationwide. Acoustic folk pop, jazz, R&B, sprinkled with a touch of gospel – it is all in Raspin’s music, creating a style of his own born out of a spontaneous energy that defines his stylized original vocal and performance trademark. Raspin’s collection of lustful, political and often daring songs emerge from deep within his soul. Raspin boldly projects his ideas and sounds through his uniquely hypnotic and haunting voice, an original style that carries over his hummable melodies and occasional key changes in a sublime balance that few musicians achieve, yet constantly strive for. Critics applaud Raspin for owning an unrivaled style with a singing range that’s wide and varied. He is truly an eclectic artist, residing at that intimate place where the harmony of sound and words mingle in meaning and perfect harmony.

This is Raspin Stuwart and made various kinds of music, which can be listened on his website and link below. His biography is also to read above and on his own website. Then now my review about his older music, and newer releases. I mostly listen to all the songs, because you never know if there is a really good one hidden between all the releases. Also, it gives me more an impression what the artist capable of is, so I stumbled across this song ¨ Busy Sidewalks¨ it is recorded 6 years ago. The intro is wonderful with humming and with the background singers it sounds so good, it is gospel and that is something which I find very beautiful. because the songs are from out the heart and with emotions. His vocal in this song ¨ we do what we do¨ is so unique with the hoarseness and the power he gives in that song. The song is really good, but during the song suddenly a transition, which gave me a bit confusing which direction the song was meant to be in which genre besides that a marvelous song. There are a couple songs which sounds good, more ballads but somehow it seems not to be the best to do to point out his vocal reach. I was talking about these songs ¨ the night is young¨ ¨somewhere in time¨ and ¨hold on¨, it is not that he don't have a beautiful vocal reach but in the other songs, it has more effects with his deeper and rawer sounds. Especially in this song ¨ rumblin´ & Tumblin¨ from him is amazing and powerfully jazz and that thing what he does with his vocal it's really stunning and way better than the higher octaves. He can absolutely sing in the higher octaves, somehow in this song ¨, the bitter end ¨ the combination of higher and deeper notes with the hoarseness sounds much better than the ballads I wrote above. I am almost gone trough all of his recordings and listening now one of his newest releases, which he posted in the artist's forums it is called ¨ smoke the Hookah¨. it is way different genre than most of his songs I love this style he does in this song kinda reggae, that proofs this singer-songwriter is capable of a lot various vocals octaves and styles. His music definitely has to be heard and shared around the globe, it is an amazing versatile talented singer-songwriter and I love the diversity he has. Therefore share this brilliant singer, as much as you can and give votes and comments underneath this review.
