Jay Woodward is an innovator in the indie folk scene, combining modern production techniques with a classic approach to song development and engineering, reminiscent of the 1960's and 70's. Taking the skills he learned during his tenure at the famed Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA, Woodward melds the analog and digital world in his recording process, giving his music a truly unique and timeless feel. "I took everything I learned and said screw it, I'm going to try my best and give this a shot." Woodward recorded his first two albums, "Letters We Told" and "Good Grief" in his home studio in Venice, CA.

Never one to shy away from the uncomfortable, Woodward grasps the business of destruction, grief, tyranny, purity and forgiveness in many of his lyrical concepts. A studio musician at heart, Woodward moved to Knoxville, TN in 2016 to build an ambitious home recording studio from the ground up. "If you want to catch me live, listen to my records because every track is me playing acoustic guitar and vocal all the way through, completely live." He is currently working on his third record in this new creative space.

This is Jay Woodward From USA, he has recently released an album called "Good Grief" and "letters we Told " Which I will be going to review, he has also posted in the first forum for you to listen and like his music. Then now my review about this singer-songwriter and his both albums, the first song is " Sparrows Song" The songs start with an amazing guitar intro, his vocals are unique a high calm with a hoarseness sound it sounds almost whispered and it fits perfect to the background tunes like violin and other beautiful instruments. The song " gone " start also with a guitar intro and man I really like his unique vocal sound, when he sings the lyrics with that vocal it touches you in your heart. He is born for playing music and singing songs, I can hear that in the way he makes the songs and perform them this is a very good talented singer. The undertone of the album is dark with the sounds and tunes but they give it with their vocals and melodic tunes a positive vibe even it goes about grief. And grief has mostly mixed up emotions, they have brought that back in their lyrics and music. The intro of the songs are mostly with acoustic instruments and varied very lovely to listen, although it might for you seem to same but when you listen carefully you hear variety.  Because this song " The joker or the Fool" has a different intro and is produced differently and it seems there is a program used in it. This has more chance it sounds marvelous with the additions used in it. And I really love the intro of this song " The psaltery overture it builds up and has kinda a movie sound, very wonderful. There are a couple instrumental songs on the album, If I must be honest I like more they style they use in these songs " I knew him that well" and the " joker or the fool" and " grief"  it seems more their sounds it is great folk pop music not that the other songs are not good but these songs are very great produced and could easily end up in movies or  tv shows and it has the perfect tunes for it. So far the album " grief" now to the other album " Letter we told" the first song is " Howl and it is more uptempo folk and more cheerful, also his vocals are very beautiful in this one more higher octaves. Wow, the vocals he used on his new album and this album are quite the opposites, in these songs he sings very high and more pop ballads I love it.  Especially in the song " garden in the sun" there you can hear how diverse his vocals are and how pure, and with the production, it sounds marvelous. When he sings so high and on an emotional way it is breathtaking, this shows how good this singer is. What I really like is he has made two albums one is more dark and positive sounds,  and one is more uptempo but with emotional sounds. I am listening to the latest song which he has sung, and don't fall asleep" the tunes and background sound with his low vocal sound he uses in this song are stunning and you listen with full attention to his voice and his vocals because it is breathtaking to hear it. This singer-songwriter has many high qualities produced songs on both of his albums and it has to be heard around the world. Therefore, share these versatile artists as much as you can and give votes and comments underneath this review.
