Introduction:

Rain on Monday combines the brightness of 80’s pop sensibilities with the melancholy darkness of long Sweden winters to create unique & powerful songs that evoke an immediate emotional response. This carefully orchestrated juxtaposition of light & dark creates a lush & expressive soundscape that elevates Rain on Monday above the myriad of artists writing songs today.

Raimond Nurmilampi began writing the songs that would embody Rain on Monday in his hometown of Kiruna, a small Swedish mining town above the arctic circle. After Raimond moved to Uppsala and connected with the producer Thomas Harsem (Still Parade, Intergalactic Lovers, Neele Ternes) who had relocated from Germany. Harsem added his shimmering touch to the collaboration & in April 2017 they released the debut single, “Kill My Love”. Their combined songwriting abilities hasn’t gone unnoticed. Music blog Where The Music Meets called “Kill My Love”, “…one of those debuts that stuck in our heads and creates a whole lot of expectations for the ones to follow”.

The expectations are met & surpassed with Rain on Monday’s second single “Hiding Places”. The raw sincerity of Raimond’s vocals & his emotive delivery counterbalances the upbeat synth progressions perfectly in Thomas Harsem’s attentive production. Cherie (meaning “beloved,” the same as Karine) prides herself with a passion for playing anything from metal to funk to hip hop. “I immerse myself in anything where I find true passion and the freedom to create.” The artist who is most often compared to Portishead, Tori Amos, and Fiona Apple, began playing the piano at age 6. By 12 years old, the gifted musician was teaching other students, some of whom were many years her senior. She honed her songwriting skills throughout high school and began arranging music for other performers.

After meeting her husband Chris, famed rapper Mr. Hyde (Psycho+Logical- Records), on the music scene in NYC, she not only found love and a collaborator in music but a support system to help her journey into sobriety. They married in 2009 and are currently working on an EP to be released later this year as musical duo Bonnie & Hyde.

“It was the rainstorms in my life that promoted my growth and depth of character, allowing me to cherish my hardships for the lessons it taught me and the person it made me.“ It’s no coincidence that these “rainstorms” inspired her stage name. Cherie is also the keyboardist for a hip-hop/funk/soul fusion trio, White Ebony, with fellow musicians Kareem Denis and Vic Orena. Introduction:

We are a group of 4 North Carolina musicians that thrive in the power of creating original music and the impact it has on an audience. We recently released our second EP, Floor of Diamonds

MNH was founded in 2015 when guitarists and songwriters, Claiborne Williams and Brian Dorcy met while playing outside their residence hall at UNC Charlotte. Shortly thereafter, they began writing and composing music. The songs that emerged out of these first sessions became popular amongst live audiences in Charlotte that the duo decided to take it a step further. The addition of Ryan Phillips on the bass guitar brought an entirely new element to the band. With his stylistic high energy funk mixed with beautifully crafted bass lines, MNH began writing and recording music. The latest expansion of the group happened when drummer Ryan Chabon added his punchy balance and smooth rhythms to bring MNH to its sound today. 

After recording their first EP “Gone”, MNH went on to play shows in Charlotte and Raleigh over the summer of 2016. They started playing open mics, record shops, and college campuses but eventually took their rock n’ roll to stages and theaters all across North Carolina. After the release of their single “Mommy's Kitchen”, Milk N’ Honey connected with their audience after dropping their songs on Spottily, iTunes, and Google Play. MNH now plans on touring, releasing and recording more new music, giving everyone a taste of one of the sweetest high energy rock n’ roll groups of today.

Steam Shed's musical style ranges from blues to jazz to steampunk - original songs & reimagined covers. 

We are Steam Shed. You can't pigeonhole us into one music genre. Richard and
Heather is the songwriting duo that creates most of our songs, bittersweet lyrics of love gone wrong, comment on the world around us and even one about skydiving... The four of us come from very different musical backgrounds - and it shows. If you stick a couple of prog rockers with a punk rocker and a folk/choral/opera singer, it's always going to be interesting.

It's like this: Imagine we have a Shed where we make music. It's all powered by steam, but some of it is coal fired, some of it is solar powered and some of it is nuclear powered... You'll never quite know what's coming next.

The story goes that Ghostly Beard is a virtuoso singer, songwriter, producer, and multi instrumentalist who recently came out of a 15-year musical retirement. Since emerging in 2013, he has written an eclectic body of music more than 40-songs strong. 

The man behind the music is Patrick Talbot. Talbot grew up a hotshot guitarist with an effortless command of the instrument and fluidity in a variety of genres. Domestic responsibilities and the demands of making a living sidelined him. However, a series of events—both painful and liberating—have enabled him to reunite with his true love for a second chance. 

Ghostly Beard’s music offers an immersive emotionality that can appear enigmatic. Beneath its dreaminess is themes of absence, yearning for the past, regret, and hope. Also penetrating what could seem like Ghostly Beard’s icy veneer of anonymity is the love for his daughter. “Something changed for me when I became a father. Even if I am something of a loner in this world, she is there to ground me,” Talbot shares. 

Select highlights on his upcoming EP, Infinite, include “Close Your Eyes,” “Frozen in Time,” and “No Return.” This five-track release opens with wistful folk on “Close Your Eyes” which soon morphs into a multi-textured, hauntingly beautiful epic brimming with longing and exquisite melodies, and a positively David Gilmour-esque teardrop guitar solo. The ethereal “Frozen in Time” is delicately majestic with airy vocals, subtle chops-y melodic flourishes, and space themed existential lyrics. The detached ambient elegance of “No Return” offers listeners a chance to vibe out and set out on an inward journey.

They say a garden is to be the world unto itself. It had better make room for the darker shades of feeling as well as the sunny ones. In the vibrant garden scape that is the Minneapolis music scene, a scene that prides itself on positivity, MOROSITY provides that vital touch of gray. Cool, dark, and sulky. A welcomed change of pace for those who would rather brood in the shade versus soaking up the abundant sunshine.

Established in 2001 by childhood friends Jesse Albrecht (Vocal/Guitarist) and Dave Rowan (Guitarist) as a two-man acoustic group, the influence of bands such as Tool, Alice In Chains, Days Of The New, and Opeth, is hard to miss. Years of developing a sound all their own and opening locally for national acts like "V.A.S.T." and "Days Of The New" brought about a need for more band members to facilitate their expanding musical vision.

Adding Sean Bachinski (Bass) in 2007, and cycling through a few different drummers (you know how drummers can get) in the preceding years, the band reached its current roster In 2009 with the addition of Jason Wolfe (Violin, Guitar, Mandolin) and Nick Johnson (Drums). Writing/recording of Morosity's debut album MISANTHROPE (2011) began. The band had found its footing in a brooding one-two punch of sullen melodies and airy, haunting vocals in addition to a wider range of instrumentation at their disposal thanks in part to the multi-talented musician Jason Wolfe.

LOW TIDE (2017), the band's sophomore album, is their latest release to date. An upgrade in both musical arrangement by the band at large and overall production by lead vocalist Jesse Albrecht who records, mixes, and masters in his home studio EVENSONG STUDIOS. The album strays from rock tradition and wanders into a much more eclectic realm fusing tribal, psychedelia, folk and even touches of middle eastern influenced music, creating an audio plethora that is as much a journey as it is an album. Work on the band's third album is already underway.

Introduction:

The man with the medicine is Erik Hale, a San Diego based dubstep artist and producer. With Erik’s creative perfection and passion, he’s quickly evolved into “Convulsic.” His amped-up meld of dubstep and trance works directly on your brain, which will never be the same. Erik’s musical style developed quite differently than the typical electronic musician, as he explains, “I was initially into bands like Metallica, The Offspring, and even Tom Petty.” This early fascination with hard rock led Hale to take up guitar and keyboards and teach himself to play. “I think my early work with the guitar and piano was a big influence on my musical development,” He continues, “Working with instruments gave me a better ability to arrange and orchestrate my electronic compositions.” However, to see just how Erik Hale became Convulsic, you have to take a step back to understand how deep his love is for the craft of music. “I remember hearing some techno remixes of Mario Brothers and Zelda game music, and I was amazed,” offers Erik. By the time he was twelve, he was already playing in bands and heavily influenced by the genres of reggae and punk. He has been on stage ever since; it is only the genres that have changed.

In 2005, Bryan Rice went directly to number one in the Danish charts with the smash hit ”No Promises” – one of the most iconic songs in Danish music history. Since then, he has released four albums, participated in the Danish Eurovision Song Contest finals, played a leading part in the Thomas Helmig Theatre concert and was nominated for Singer of the Year at the Danish Zulu Awards. Now, he is ready with the single ”Hear Me As I Am”, which is both the title song and the first foretaste of his fifth album to be released on ArtPeople in early 2015.

On 23 February 2017, Bryan Rice celebrated his 10 year anniversary on stage and will by releasing the album “Hear Me As I Am” and the single “Beat Of My Own Drum”. At 14 the of April he did release his second single " Warriors" which I also will review and he has uploaded several videos and music on his other accounts from earlier dates.
